Qurez and Yogeeq clubbed together to spread the holistic approach of life through Yoga in France!

Yoga, its all over the world and people are realising the benefits of it in their lives! Yoga not only strengthens you physically but mentally too. The benefits of Yoga range from a healthy lifestyle to mindfulness and a calm life which everybody needs to have in this world of chaos and hustle and bustle! 

To spread this benefit of Yoga, Prerna Karidhal, founder of Qurez and Co-founder of Yogeeq (a complete Yoga store), set on a journey to France to conduct a Yoga session in Paris at Champ de Mars on 25th May 2019. Prerna has studied Yoga from India's best Yoga Institute, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga in Delhi, India.

The Yoga sessions included the following asanas

Before and after the Yoga session, a holy chant was said by everyone, this chant goes like this

"Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu,
Guru devo Maheshwara,
Guru sakshat, param Brahma,
Tasmai shri guravay namah"

1. Sun salutation (Surya Namaskar)

 suryanamaskar

This Yoga asana includes 12 steps starting with the prayer pose. The asanas in Suryanamaskar have a great impact on our body because it gives an overall exercise to the entire body thus involving all the muscles! 

It is advised to perform Suryanamaskar early morning when the sun sets to rise, the asanas should be performed facing towards the sun. At times due to our hectic schedule we can also perform these asanas in the evening.

* The above pose is Ashwa sanchalanasan which is one of the 12 poses in suryanamaskar

 2. Pawanmuktasan

Pawanmuktasan

Popularly known as the 'wind-relieving pose or gas pose', this asana relieves all the discomfort in the gut and the abdomen area. This yoga asana mainly targets your abdomen, gut area thus relieving all the gas formed in the abdomen, constipation and indigestion which everybody goes through due to our poor diet intake! 

The asana when done properly brings a surge of blood circulation in the abdomen thereby keeping your gut healthy! 

3. Purvottan asana

Purvottan aasan

This is known as the 'upward plank pose', this pose targets your arms, chest, and the ankles! This stretches the targeted areas relieving any stress or tension built in the body areas because of our sedentary lifestyle. The asana is a great way of strengthening our arms, hips, back and the legs since we use these organs to push up our body into a  plank position.

This asana is perfect for those who sit for hours in one place at their work, school or college, this will surely remove all the stiffness built in our shoulders, arms, ankles. This asana is also a great way to start your day with a surge of energy in your body!

4. Ashva sanchalanasana

Ashva sanchalanaasan

Also known as the 'equestrian pose - which means a horse riding position', it mainly targets your legs, chest and the abdomen. This asana is beneficial for stretching and also gives flexibility to your tensed organs.  

This horse riding position is also present in one of the 12 poses in suryanamaskar. Make it a habit to attempt this asana early in the morning or in the evening after you reach home tired from your day's activities. 

5. Gomukhaasan

Gowmukhaasan

This is also known as the 'cow face asana', this targets your arms, shoulders, chest, abdomen, hips, thighs. It's a great asana to work on your upper body where the chest gets expanded thus increasing your breath intakes and thereby circulating more blood in your cells thus making you more energetic.

This sitting asana can be done in your office or college gym area where you just want to stretch your upper body! 

6. Trikonaasan

Trikonasan

Known as the 'triangle pose', this pose focuses on your legs, thighs, hips, calves, hamstrings, shoulders and hands. This asana helps in relieving tension around your hip region, keeps your natural posture intact, keeps you balanced and stretches and relaxes all the muscles in your body! 

This asana keeps you balanced physically and mentally, whenever you feel that you need to take a break from your sitting position at your work place, all you have to do is perform this task to feel refreshed, this yoga pose also doesn't need a lot of space! 

Yoga is one of the best things to bring a state of equilibrium in your life!
